For the project of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2021 in Oberstdorf a separate limited liability company has been established, which is concerned with the complete preparation as well as the implementation of this major sports event.
The “FIS Nordische Ski WM Oberstdorf/Allgäu 2021 GmbH“ consists of the following shareholders:
German Ski Federation
Municipality of Oberstdorf
Administrative District of Oberallgäu
Skiclub 1906 Oberstdorf e.V.
This structure represents not just the interests of sports but also respects tourism in Oberstdorf and the Allgäu region with all facets to set up a sustainable event for all stakeholders.
There were 4 additional panels established which positions are occupied by experts of the 4 shareholders and are likewise supporting the progress of the organisation with their know-how:

The “FIS Nordische Ski WM Oberstdorf/Allgäu 2021 GmbH“ is managed by the two directors, Moritz Beckers-Schwarz and Florian Stern, who work enthusiastically with their experienced staff on the preparations.
Supporting the full-time professionals, there will be a team of up to 1.600 volunteers, who are going to see to a smooth process inside the sport stadiums and the surrounding event areas during the 2 weeks of the championships. Without the support of this “WSC-Team” a major sports event of this scope would not be viable.
